Gucci Watches

Gucci is one of the world’s leading designers, producers and distributors of quality personal luxury accessories. Besides watches, Gucci products include leather goods, shoes, watches, gifts, jewelry, eyewear and perfume. The Gucci Group is an Italian company with a Dutch address that sells French fashion … and is quite successful in Japan too! Gucci watches are international watches with a truely international flair.

The Gucci brand is known around the world. The Gucci watches are modern, ultra-sleek and are considered ultimate in timekeeping fashion, G timepieces capture the art of watch making and style at their finest.

The signature G Series models feature stainless steel construction, scratch resistant hard metal bezels in the G design, sapphire crystals and a variety of dial colors. Available in link bracelet with push button double fold clasps or black patent leather strap, the G Series is offered in men's, women's and junior sizes.

Today, Gucci timepieces are modern interpretations of the original classic Gucci style. Each watch is an individual commitment to both Swiss precision and good taste. The signature G Series models feature stainless steel construction, scratch-resistant hard metal bezels in the G design, sapphire crystals and a variety of dial colors. Available in link bracelet with push-button double fold clasps or black patent leather strap, the G Series is offered in men's, women's and junior sizes. Other dress and sporty designs feature 18 karat gold or stainless steel rotating cases with signature G on casebacks, bracelets with signature Gucci buckle closure, and lizard-embossed leather straps and bangles in a wide variety of colors. Truly the ultimate in timekeeping fashions - Gucci timepieces capture the art of watchmaking and style at their finest.

Beginning in 1920, Guccio Gucci opened a shop in Florence featuring his fine leathergoods accessories for men and women. He included his sons, Aldo, Ugo, Vasco and Rodolfo, in the family business and spread the Gucci name to Rome and Milan. In the early 1950's New York City had a Gucci store selling the world famous Gucci classics, which included: handbags with the bamboo handle, trademark G (Gucci) belt clasps, and printed silk foulards and ties. By the late '60s additional stores had been opened in London, Palm Beach, Paris, Beverly Hills and Tokyo.

Gucci timepieces were created in 1997 when Gucci acquired the operating assets of the Severin Montres Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of watches. Severin Montres, a Gucci licensee for 23 years, had developed an extensive directly operated distribution network in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, the UK and Germany, as well as third party arrangements elsewhere.

In the early 1970's Rodolfo's son Mauritzio restructured the business, (calling on the family motto, "Stay small to remain great") he cut the Gucci line back from over 20,000 items to 5,000 and recaptured the prestigious brand's focus on high quality accessories. To Mauritzio's credit the Gucci collection of fine watches survived.
